A Tale of Two Styles

My friend had a very sentimental handmade piece that was in a primitive style. Although unique on it's own, it would not fit in her decor. Is it worth a redo? Or just put a cover over it? I say Redo and show it off!

Here, you can see the original paint and stain.

First up, a good scrubbing! Then a couple of coats of good stain blocking primer. I also wanted a handle similar to another piece I had done - so I turned a blah brushed nickle knob into an aged copper showstopper.

Now, here we are, ready to go another 50 years!
