Have A Seat!

We had a very tired and worn old bench from my husband’s childhood that I really wanted to use. I needed a bench or place for a suitcase in our guest room. I spied with my little eye - one wonderful possibility! As you can see, it had been covered about 100 times - all of that needed to go!

After pulling all 10,000 upholstery nails and giving it a good scrub - I did not fill any holes from the nails, instead I lightly sanded so no splinters could arise. I loved the old purposeful look. I felt a nice warm red with a touch of distress was perfect. I found some old scrapbook paper and covered a board where the seat cushion used to be. I gave a few coats of polyurethane and it sits proudly at the foot of the bed.
