A dear friend had a piece from her dads estate that she wanted re-done in a terra cotta color, with a bit of distressing. She had remembered this piece from all of her childhood, so this was a very special request. I wanted it to be perfect!
So, first things first - as is the usual - bathtime!

After a good scrubbing, time for a few updates. We were going to go from handles to knobs, so I had to fill in holes, and drill some new, centered ones.

Now, on to primer.

After primer, my special details for a special lady - I love to fancy up the drawer sides with a stencil or pretty color. I chose a fern type stencil, with a similar color flower.

After several coats of homemade chalk paint, a little distress here and there - and there you have it, a brand "new" piece ready for some new memories to be made.
